Since we rebuilt the spreadsheet editor in 2013, our customers have benefited from a faster, better performing platform that can handle larger spreadsheet models.

We’ve also been working on improving the processing speed of the platform, and today we’re ready to announce a substantial improvement in app performance.

The improvement for any particular app will depend on a range of factors, such as the device or operating system you’re using. To give an indication, we can say that apps are now processing calculations around five times faster than they were last year.

This is due to a range of software updates made over the course of the last six months by our software team, led by senior software engineer Nicolas Hatcher.

Talking about the impact of this year’s updates, Nicolas describes “…extreme examples of models that are 180 times faster, even on the slowest iPad. We have also increased the upper limit on the size of model that can be run smoothly - up to 6 Mb.”

We know how important it is to have a smooth and delay-free experience when presenting to clients. For this reason, we’ll continue to invest in improvements to the platform. To stay informed about the latest updates, join our mailing lists.
